A Design of a Diplexer with Attenuation Poles using a Common Resonator and Quarter-Wave Stepped Impedance Resonators

Abstract(in English) In this study, a 2.1 GHz band bandpass filter (BPF) is composed of single mode stepped impedance resonators (SIRs) and a dual mode SIR. In order to realize the BPF using the microstrip line structure, the external Q-factor ($Q_{rm e}$) and the coupling coefficient are designed using the electromagnetic field simulator. The authors propose a dual mode common resonator as a configuration method of a diplexer and give the $Q_{rm e}$ control method in each pass band. A 2.5 GHz band BPF is designed based on the proposed design method. A new diplexer using aforementioned BPFs and common resonator is designed and fabricated. The experimental result shows realization of the compact diplexer with multiple attenuation poles close to each passband and high rejection in the stopband.
