| Abstract(in English) | I would like to propose three grand challenges for the next 10 years. The first challenge is developing measurement technologies of internal states of humans such as satisfaction or happiness and enhancing such (positive) internal states. According to Maslow's hierarchy of needs, esteem and self-actualization are needed after satisfying low-level needs such as physiological needs or safety needs. Current technologies are mostly for low-level needs, thus those for high-level needs will become important. The second challenge is commoditization of PRMU technologies. Sensors are employed in many real applications/services instead of using PRMU-based technologies because they are more robust and cheaper. Providing technologies that are robust, cheap, or higher-value than sensors is mandatory to make put them into the mainstream of industrial applications. “Easy to use” would also be an important factor. The third challenge is stronger collaboration among academia and industries. Instead of doing research for research, polishing technologies in real usages, and getting feedback and research fund for the next step of research would be mandatory for the success of PRMU technologies. During the conference, I would like to various grand challenges in our research field including those described above. |
