Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Flow-mediated dilation test is the most commonly used method to diagnose endothelial function of arteriosclerosis in early stages. The FMD test evaluates the maximum vasodilation by the increases in blood flow after cuff deflation. The blood diameter must be captured clearly with the ultrasonic probe during the examination. The vasodilation is induced in response to changes in the mechanical structure of the vessel wall due to the blood flow stimulation. The changes in the mechanical structure of the vessel wall are supposed to affect the hemodynamics. In this study, we analyze the influence of FMD test on hemodynamics. The result indicates that the change of hemodynamics during FMD test can evaluate the endothelial function.
