Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We can get a large amount of information using mobile phones easily. It is very convenience in our ordinary lives. However, it cannot make us so exciting for traveling. While the provision of information may lessen the anxiety experienced by tourists, the promise of the unexpected makes travel attractive. We developed an application using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons that not only provides a guide to a specific location but also makes tourists to feel some unknown and attractive objects exist the area. Our experiments at the Nikko, the world heritage site in Japan, demonstrated the effectiveness of the BLE beacon application.
