Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | An optical probe current sensor using the magneto-optical effect has been studied for power electronics. This sensor shows better temperature characteristics and smaller sensor head compared to a Hall element current sensor with a magnetic yoke. An optical probe current sensor first converts target current into a differential photo signal of P and S polarization obtained from a magneto-optical effect of the magnetic film whose magnetization is induced by the magnetic field of the target current. Then, an analog front end circuit (AFE) using transimpedance amplifier (TIA) converts the differential photo signal detected by photodiodes into a voltage signal. However, in the previous work, TIA was composed of discrete devices and its bandwidth was low due to the parasitic capacitance of the photodiodes. In this work, a TIA with regulated cascode amplifier (RGC) is designed to increase a bandwidth of the AFE circuit. The measured transimpedance gain is 117.3dBOhm,SFDR of 40dB at the output frequency of 2MHz using a 0.18um standard CMOS process. |
