A Proposal of Two-Dimensional Histogram Specification Method Based on Dimension Reduction

Abstract(in English) Histogram-based image transformation methods, such as histogram equalization and color distribution transfer, are widely used. These methods obtain the transformed image by using the color distribution of the input image and reference image. Various multi-dimensional distribution transfer methods have been proposed so far. However, in conventional methods, it is not guaranteed that the pixel values are in a gamut after transformation. In this report, we propose the new two-dimensional histogram specification method which guarantees that the transformed result is converged in the gamut. Through the experiments, the effectiveness and validity of the proposed method are verified.
