[Invited Talk] A Data-Driven Processor Realizing Trillion Sensors Universe

Abstract(in English) This paper introduces a data-driven processor aiming at realizing Trillion Sensors Universe. Execution control scheme in the processor is based on the data-driven principle, which has been recognized as the most natural way to represent and realize parallel execution to the present, and VLSI-ized by circular self-timed pipelines. This paper first discusses novel design philosophy on the data-driven processor architecture and its VLSI-oriented realization. Research achievements such as ultra-low-power networking system by developing prototype data-driven processors are briefly addressed. Finally, networking architecture enabling autonomous fault detection and isolation scheme which is essential to realize Trillion Sensors Universe will be demonstrated.
