Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In healthy humans, 24-hr fluctuation of heart rate shows down-sloping linear log-log spectrum with a slope of -1, indicating that human heart beats have 1/f fluctuation property. Although heart beats during atrial fibrillation show horizontal log-log spectrum indicating white noise in high frequency band >0.005± 0.002 Hz, in frequency band below this frequency they also show down-sloping linear log-log spectrum with a slope close to -1. Even in healthy people, particularly young subjects, log-log spectrum has an inflection point and bends to upper direction above and below this point. This bending recuses with aging as a butterfly spreads wings. These observations indicate the presence of singularities in heart beat fluctuation at periods of around 200 sec and 30 min.
