| Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we introduce the change of search technology and the future development of video search in the past, present and future for known and unknown query subjects in surveillance area. In the past, most research focused on finding target person from the surveillance video by specifying a known person. We created the concept of video retrieval "Where's Wally?" and developed a scalable distributed video search system for video metadata. However, demand for video surveillance is changing, and response to unknown search targets is required. For this reason, we are currently working on research to find unknown persons at high speed based on the appearance pattern of the person who appears in the surveillance videos. Recently, we have succeeded in developing fast video retrieval technology, "Profiling across Spatio-Temporal Data", with an eye on the spatiotemporal characteristics of the appearance pattern of unknown person. In this paper, we will introduce the profiling technique across spatiotemporal data in detail. Finally, while exploring the future of video retrieval, we describe the trend of the latest technology and the application extension of our technique. |
