Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Recently, the study on the 5th generation communication systems using a high frequency band has been actively conducted. There are problems such as decrease of transmission power density due to the wider transmission bandwidth and increase of the radio wave propagation loss due to the higher frequency. As a technique for solving these problems, multi-element array antenna (e.g. Massive MIMO) technologies at base stations (BSs) have been receiving considerable attention. Since BSs with multi-element array antenna have narrow beam pattern, user equipements (UEs) require both initial beam acquisition technique, in which UEs initially detect suitable narrow beam of BS after the user equipments (UEs) are powered on or handover procedures happen and beam tracking technique, in which narrow beam of BS is always directed to the UEs. This paper reports laboratory experimental results by using a prototype of real-time transmit beamforming. |
