Performance Evaluation of MongoDB v2.6 and v3.0 Using Data Format for Integrated Monitoring Systems

Abstract(in English) MongoDB has attracted attention as a database that can be stored flexibly unstructured data in the schema-less.The latest MongoDB version v3.0 which architecture has been redesigned from MongoDB v2.6, has been released in early 2015.We evaluated the performance of MongoDB v2.6 and v3.0 in order to clarify the changes in the performance due to the update of MongoDB major version, using the data format of the integrated monitoring system of the cloud environment which handle a wide range of log format from the application layer to the hardware layer. MongoDB v3.0 improved data registration performance about 25 percent, and improved search performance of the text data about 80%. In addition, it was able to reduce the amount of data 87% when you use the zlib compression in Wired Tiger storage engine of MongoDB v3.0.
