Abstract(in English) | The purpose of this study was to develop a portable gait rehabilitation system for improving walking impairment of hemiplegic patients with foot drop. A gait events detection method of this system was constructed from the characteristics of healthy subject. Therefore, the system has the possibility that can not detect properly the gait events of hemiplegic gait with a different feature from normal gait. In this paper, the detection method was modified considering the characteristics of gait of healthy subject and the hemiplegic gait. The modified detection method was tested with the healthy subjects under the conditions of normal gait and simulated hemiplegic gait. The results of 3 subjects indicated that the modified method improved gait event detection rate in indoor and outdoor environments. |
