Abstract(in English) | In the brain, connections between neurons are modularly organized. By integrating numerical analyses with experiments on cultured neuronal networks, we constructively study the relationship between the modular structure and the spatiotemporal pattern of spontaneous neural activity. We focus on the synchronous bursting activity that is dominant in cortical cultures and investigate graph theoretically how its frequency and periodicity depends on the network's modularity. |
