Evaluation of Routing Protocol for Energy Harvesting-Based Wireless Sensor Networks

抄録(和) Since the energy of disposable battery in wireless sensor network (WSN) is limited, the performance and network life are restricted, and the network cost is increased. The new technology, i.e. energy harvesting technology, where environmental energy, such as light, heat, wind, and mechanical energy, changes to electrical energy into electrical, opens the new direction inWSN energy scheme. This new direction, i.e. Energy Harvesting-based Wireless Sensor Networks(EH-WSNs) can successfully enhance the performance and increase its duration. Consequent to the characteristics of EH-WSNs, there is an enormous divergence in energy storage management, data transmission, network topology and connectivity between disposable battery powered WSNs and energy harvesting-WSNs. So the way to research disposable battery-powered WSN is not adequate for harvesting-based WSN. Here in this paper, we focus on routing protocol, we make clear the difference of the behavior of routingprotocol, DSR over battery powered WSNs and energy harvesting WSNs, and produce the points which are required for routing protocol over energy harvesting WSNs.
