Abstract(in English) | The demand for wireless LAN communications in mobile terminals such as smartphones and tablet PCs has been increasing. Communication distances of the mobile terminals are diverse since they communicate from various locations. So the wireless channel is crowded with acknowledgement and retransmission for wireless terminals under poor conditions; it brings some harmful effects on the wireless communications. In this report, we assess the effect of reliable groupcast schemes on QoE of audio and video transmission in wireless terminals with different communication distances. As reliable groupcast schemes, we use GCR (GroupCast with Retries) Unsolicited Retry and GCR Block Ack; they are standardized by IEEE 802.11aa. We perform a computer simulation for QoS assessment and carry out a subjective experiment for QoE assessment. As a result, we find that an adaptive reliable groupcast schemes for network conditions can enhance QoE. |
