Abstract(in English) Microwave radar system is a promising tool for observation of terrain surface and surveillance of suspicious ship under all weather conditions. To take advantage of the radar, high resolution of time of arrival (TOA) is required. However, the TOA resolution is dependent on the frequency bandwidth of transmitted signal. As one of the high resolution TOA estimation methods, the compressed sensing (CS) has been proposed, which is not affected by the limited frequency bandwidth. To retain the estimation accuracy of CS in lower SNR situation, this paper introduces a hierarchical Bayesian based CS approach for noise-robust TOA estimation. The experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method improves the accuracy of TOA estimation compare with the l1-norm based CS.
