Experimental Ka-band Ground Based Synthetic Aperture Radar (GB-SAR)

Abstract(in English) An experimental ground-based synthetic aperture radar (GB-SAR) system operating at Ka-band has been developed in this research. The activity includes the development of SCW (stationary continue wave)-SAR signal processing algorithms and practical SAR systems based on vector network analyzers (VNA) as a coherent transmitting?receiving setup. The equipment operates with a high duty cycle (in a quasi-continuous mode) utilizing two separate scaler horn antennas for simultaneous transmission of LFM and reception of radar returns. The antennas were mounted on a track worked by stepper motors with very high accuracy. In our experiments, the system was operated indoor (chamber) overviewing man-made scenes. The obtained SAR and DInSAR images will be showed and validated in this work.
