Abstract(in English) The results of target detection using an experimental long-range multistatic passive radar testbed are reported in this paper. Multiple commercial FM radio broadcast signals from transmitters in widely separated locations in greater Tokyo are used as illuminators of opportunity. Strong direct signal interferences and discrete clutter are mitigated by the methods proposed by the authors to detect these targets of opportunity. Multiple time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) measurements are utilized to determine the location of the detected target. A passenger aircraft at a bistatic range of 205 km, or 106-km away from the receiver location, was detected and located using two FM radio broadcast signals from different transmitters.
