Cooperative Weighted Indoor Positioning Method in Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract(in English) In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), it is important to know each location of the sensor node to use the observed information in the sensor networks. Positioning using RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) is focused because of easy to implement and reduction of cost. However, the localization accuracy is deeply degraded in non-line-of-site (NLOS) environment due to fading and shadowing. In this paper, we propose a MMSE-based cooperative positioning method. In the method, localized target nodes (TNs) cooperate to decide the location of other TNs as well as fixed anchor nodes (ANs). In the localization scheme, each RSSI is weighted according to the distance and RSSI to mitigate the effects of fading and shadowing. Numerical results show that the proposed method can achieve higher localization accuracy than conventional MMSE-based methods.
