Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the U.S., child panel test is widely applied for packaging containers and cigarette lighters for ensuring child resistant functionality that realizes higher safety for children. However, in principle this test involves inevitable problems in ethics, reproducibility and cost. In this paper, mechanical requisites for child resistant products are discussed based on physical performance data of children, and possibility for introducing mechanical testing alternative to the child panel testing is investigated.
