Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This study focuses on multi-party conversation involving child and examines how these participants interact with each other and what type of resources the participant employs during the interaction. We analyze the conversations, which were filmed at National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation between a child, his/her parent, and the Science Communicator (hereafter SC). The results of analyses show that SCs tend to use a casual form (final particles, yone, dayo, etc.) when they speak to child, on the other hands, SCs tend to use a formal form (final particles, desu, deshou, etc.) when they speak to parent. Moreover, the fact, SCs use difference type of utterance forms depending on who is the addressee at that moment (child or parent), suggests that there is the methodological way in which SCs put themselves with parent or child in ongoing interaction and the way structurally shapes their interactions.
