Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Microwaves or below frequencies has been mostly used for the in-body communication considering the propagation loss of human body. In this paper, we examine using the millimeter-wave antenna which can be used outside the body for in-body communication to realize the millimeter size device for in-body communication. A 60GHz-band planar dipole antenna developed for millimeter-wave wireless personal area network (W-PAN) is used for this study. We simulate and measure how the dielectric constant of human body influences the resonant frequency of the antenna. The human body is replaced by water. In addition, we research the transmission characteristics by setting up the antennas face to face in the environment simulating in-body. The result shows the possibility that the 60GHz-band planar dipole antenna in the out-body can be operated around 10GHz, which is lower than the peak of absorption peak of the water, in the case of in-body communication.
