Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, wireless LAN has been diffused, and in near future, its channel utilization needs to be improved in case that multicast delivery like multimedia streaming coexists in addition to unicast. While the backoff algorithm in IEEE 802.11 avoids only the packet loss caused by collision, other existing works tackle the packet loss caused by channel fading by transmitting packets at a lower rate. The authors' research group has proposed a packet transmission scheduling which avoids decreasing transmission rate, and improved channel utilization. However, the previously proposed method does not take multicast transmission into account. In this paper, we study an extension of the packet transmission scheduling to wireless LAN with both unicast and multicast flows.
