A study on inductive power transfer using multiple coupled transmission line segments

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes inductive power transfer (IPT) system using multiple segments of coupled transmission lines. It has been known that the dimensions of the primary coil of an IPT system need to be smaller than approximately one-tenth of a wavelength to avoid impact of standing wave. Therefore, we design the transmission line segments with proper configurations to make them self-resonant and then concatenate them in series to form an elongated primary coil. Advantages of our system are: its capability of charging moving receivers with stable output, its low dielectric loss. Numerical analyses are carried out to evaluate the system?fs performance.
