Abstract(in English) In order to minimize damages due to landslide disasters caused by heavy rain and so on, it is quite important for residents to quickly take refuge from the disasters before being serious about their lives. Therefore it is necessary to develop the environment that the residents are able to judge the appropriate timing for evacuation. In this study, we newly propose the Grass-roots Information Distribution System using MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc Network) connected with mobile terminals such as smart phones, for the purpose of sharing the disaster information among the residents with grass-roots approach. In this system, the concept of assurance network is adopted and the MANET technologies are developed with high durability and reliability. Also we are developing mobile sensing technologies using mobile terminal for distributing and sharing the disaster information such as camera images and precursor sensing data of smells and rumblings of the landslide. Moreover, the proposed system delivers the sensing data obtained by the fixed camera system constructed at the dangerous area where the landslide disaster actually occurred. This report describes the overview of the Grass-roots Information Distribution System and shows the latest development of MANET and mobile sensing technologies in this system.
