Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The spin Seebeck effect and the inverse spin Hall effect generate the voltage by a temperature gradient in the ferrimagnetic oxide and nonmagnetic metal systems. One of important physical parameters determining the voltage is the spin mixing conductance at the interface between magnetic oxide and nonmagnetic metal. Although it was theoretically reported that the spin mixing conductance depends on the magnetic density at the interface, the ferrimagnetic oxide such as Y3Fe5O12 (YIG) has the small magnetic moment. In this report, we inserted the very thin ferromagnetic Ni80Fe20 to enhance the magnetic moment density at the interface between YIG and Pt because Ni80Fe20 is a typical ferromagnetic material with the high magnetic moment density. At the Ni80Fe20 monolayer thickness, we obtained the spin Seebeck voltage enhancement, which is considered owing to improvement of the magnetic moment density and the spin mixing conductance.
