Abstract(in English) Recently, mobile communication systems for the fifth generation (5G) in higher frequency bands have been extensively studied. A Massive-MIMO system is one of the promising technologies to improve spectral efficiency. Authors have been engaged on the research subject: “Wideband Massive MIMO and beam control technologies for high SHF bands” for "The research and development project for realization of the fifth-generation mobile communications system -High Data Rate and Low-Power-Consumption Radio Access Technologies with Ultra Higher-Frequency-Band and Wider-Bandwidth Massive MIMO" commissioned by The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Japan. This report describes the outline of three research targets: “Development of massive antenna system”, “Multi-user / spatial multiplexing technologies” and “Advanced beam-control algorithm” and introduces the initial results.
