Frozen Bit Determination Method Based on Error Rate

Abstract(in English) In the next generation radio access, high performance is required, such as low latency and high reliability in addition to high throughput and capacity. To realise such demands, one of the promising candidates for channel coding is polar codes. In the polar code, the frozen bit needs to be effectively selected, since inappropriate frozen bits degrade the performance. This paper proposes the novel frozen bits determination methods employing the polar code construction based on target bit error rate (BER) instead of signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR). Furthermore, the performance of the proposed scheme are compared with the conventional scheme, and it is showed that the proposed scheme works well.
