Analysis of wavelength-dependent modal group-delay characteristics of coupled 3-core optical fibers

Abstract(in English) Coupled-modes for symmetrically distributed 3-core fibers are numericallyanalyzed by using point-matching method with group theoretical approach. Based on this analysis, wavelength-dependent modal group-delay characteristics for various structural parameters are studied. Product of the core radius and the relative index difference is found to be one of the factors to determine the modal group-delay characteristics. It is also found that a zero differential-mode-group-delay wavelength may exist at longer wavelength.
