Abstract(in English) | One of the cues for depth perception is binocular disparity, the small horizontal differences between the images projected on two eyes. It has been known that the sensitivity to disparity for depth perception is very low for some people, even though they are not stereo-blind. In this study, we measured stereo acuity using hexagon dot stereogram with appropriate optical corrections and compare it with the state of eye refraction with no optical corrections to show the causes of individual difference in stereo sensitivity. There was significant difference in stereo acuity between myopia and non-myopia subjects. In addition, subjects with large horizontal astigmatic power tended to have large stereo threshold and those with large binocular difference in spherical equivalent power or horizontal astigmatic power tended to have large stereo threshold. These results indicate that the individual difference in stereo acuity is caused by the specific state of eye refraction. |
