Dual Band Rectangular Waveguide Polarizer for Ka-Band

Abstract(in English) In this paper, a novel dual band rectangular waveguide polarizer is proposed. The proposed polarizer consists of some corrugated conductive plates and an elongated conductive plate (ridge) arranged at intervals in the axial direction. The elongated conductive plate has two effects, which is of increasing the phase difference between two orthogonal polarizations and is of decreasing frequency deviation between two orthogonal polarizations. It was verified by theory, analysis, and measures for Ka-band. As a result, it is confirmed that the polarizer has low axial ratio (0.6dB) characteristics in the bandwidth 9% at 20GHz and 6.7% at 30GHz by analysis. In measure, it was confirmed that the axial ratio was 0.9dB with respect to theoretical and analytical value 0.6dB.
