Radiation characteristics of bended flexible dielectric waveguide for area formation of millimeter-wave wireless communication systems

Abstract(in English) This paper presents radiation characteristics of two bended flexible dielectric waveguides in millimeter wave frequencies ranging from 33 GHz to 50 GHz, and 50 GHz to 70 GHz. Measured ratio between radiated signal power and input signal power shows a tendency that lower frequency signals effectively radiate from the flexible dielectric waveguide than higher frequency signals. The radiation patterns of the bended dielectric wave guides come out of the measurements of absolute gain using the comparison method. About 15 dBi of maximum absolute gain is obtained on both bended flexible dielectric waveguides.
