TCP Congestion Control Considering Order Errors by Route Modification for Wireless Mesh Networks

Abstract(in English) TCP performs retransmission control and congestion control when order errors occur. However, since order errors due to route change are naturally solved, these controls are needless and decrease communication performance. In wireless mesh network, there are several causes of order errors; packet loss by wireless link failure, the one by overflow and route change. Related works do not take into account the causes of the order errors in their proposed congestion control or retransmission control. In this paper, we propose a method that determines the cause of the order errors, and TCP performs the appropriate control for the cause. The simulation result shows that throughput can be improved to 42%, retransmitted packets due to the route change are reduced to 83%.
