Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We report the analyses of multiparty collaboration in the “Marshmallow challenge” task, by examining the relationship among task achievement, performance satisfaction, and multimodal interaction throughout the task. We recorded and analyzed the participant’s amounts of the speech and gaze as well as his/her use of a marshmallow with a video camera. Social skills and big five personality were tested with a pre-task questionnaire. The height of the created tower with a marshmallow was measured as an index of the task achievement. The performance satisfaction of participants was obtained with a post-task questionnaire. We conducted both correlation and multiple-regression analyses between task achievement/performance satisfaction and the degree of multimodal interaction at the early, middle and final phases of the task. The results suggest that the number of agreement utterances in the early phase contribute to the height of the marshmallow tower. The time starting to try the combination of a marshmallow and a piece of pasta seem to affect the performance satisfaction.
