Abstract(in English) | In this presentation, we review a topology-based approach for network sensing and its applications. We here explain recent collaborative researches with a focus on our systematic and hierarchical research procedure that consists of problem setting, computational theory, representation and algorithm, and physical implementation including hardware implementation for each task in accordance with David Marr's 3-level design hierarchy. First, we explain a touch counting algorithm based on Euler integrals and its hardware implementation. Second, we explain a touch sensing algorithm focused on computing Euler Calculus via a discrete Poincare-Hopf index based on the graph theory and its physical implementation. Finally, as advanced research directions, we discuss an application to cross point detection in motion gesture, an expansion of touch sensing algorithms to various mesh topologies, and possible applications to ad-hoc wireless sensor networks. |
