Development of the radiation detector array using high-temperature superconductor

Abstract(in English) We have been developing a radiation detector with high spatial resolution and wide detection area to examine the biological half-life of the radioactive material. We adopt Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detectors (MKID) for our camera. Because the MKID requires the low operation temperature that is around one-tenth of the superconducting transition temperature, to reduce cooling costs we have been trying the high Tc material for MKID. In this paper we fabricated the detector by using YBCO film to operate detectors at 4 K. We measured the resonance characteristics of this detector at 0.5 K from 46 K. The quality factors of the detectors were very low, about 1500, because the quality of the YBCO film was low.
