Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the Global Positioning System(GPS), high accurate position determination is carried out by receiving signals from more than three satellites and calculating pseudo range between a GPS satellite and a receiver by multiplying the velocity of light wave and a time difference. In the urban environment where large and high buildings are surrounded around roads, multipath signals from satellites which include inevitable delays shall degrade the accuracy of the position determination because the measurement range (pseudo range) includes a distance error. Moreover, visibility of the satellite constellation is restricted in the urban area that causes interception of the satellite signals and the deterioration of the satellite constellation. In such sever condition, a large position error will be produced also. In this study, outdoor experimentation was conducted by using GPS receivers in order to analyze the influence of the interception of the satellite signals and the reception of multipath signals from the surrounded buildings. Further, relationship between multipath environments and satellite constellations were analyzed and reported by evaluating the deviations of positioning errors and pseudo-ranges.
