Measurement on Mixed-Mode S-Parameter of Planar Marchand Balun

Abstract(in English) S–parameter measurement of balance–unbalance circuit (balun) and the evaluation of the result are difficult because of different mode ports that are a balanced port and an unbalanced port. In this paper, we focus on mixed mode S–arameter and propose the combination with S–parameter method and SOL method to know mixed mode S–parameter and to estimate the S–parameter of the balun. As the result, the reflection coefficients of the experiment and the simulation agreed well and we conclude that the proposed method is effective to estimate mixed mode S–parameter of the balun with the differential mode ports.
