Decision-Feedback Block Differential Detection for M-ary PSK

Abstract(in English) This paper discusses performance of decision-feedback block differential detection (DFBDD) for differential space-time block coding (DSTBC). Performance of DFBDD is controlled by tap coefficients for decision-feedback. There are some reports of tap coefficients for higher order channel prediction. This paper evaluates the performance of DFBDD with channel average and DFBDD with higher order channel prediction. Computer simulation evaluates bit error rate (BER) of DFBDD with channel average and channel prediction for 4-branch diversity reception, assuming QPSK, 16PSK, 64PSK and 256PSK. As results, DFBDD with channel average has better sensitivity performance than DFBDD with channel prediction, and DFBDD with channel prediction has better tracking performance of fast time-varying fading than DFBDD with channel average.
