Multi-Carrier Differential MIMO Transmit Diversity for Fast Time-Varying Beat Interference in P-MP Communications

Abstract(in English) This paper discusses a point to multi-point (P-MP) communication system on beat interference channels with large frequency offset, i.e., fast time-varying beat interference (FTBI) channels. There exist the two problems on FTBI channles and intersymbol interference (ISI) channels in P-MP communication systems, where the multiple base stations (BSs) simultaneously transmit the same information at the same frequency band. For the FTBI channel model, this paper discusses multi-carrier (MC) differential space-time coding (DSTC) in the presence of ISI. For MC modulation schemes, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is employed in many communication systems. However, this paper evaluates a multiple single carrier (MSC) modulation scheme which transmits information by means of parallel single carrier modulation schemes aiming at basic performance comparison. Finally, computer simulation results confirm that the proposed differential multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmit diversity (TD) for per transmit antenna differential mapping (PADM) employing the MSC modulation scheme has excellent block error rate (BLER) performance on FTBI channels with the maximum frequency offset normalized by symbol rate of 5%.
