Resonant-Tunneling-Diode Terahertz Oscillator Integrated with Radial Line Slot Antennas for Circularly Polarized Wave Radiation

Abstract(in English) We proposed and fabricated a novel resonant-tunneling-diode (RTD) terahertz (THz) oscillators for circularly polarized radiation for THz wireless communication without alignment of polarization between the transmitter and receiver. Although a linear polarized radiation was obtained in conventional device having a slot antenna for radiation, a circularly polarized radiation is possible by integration of a radial line slot antenna. We fabricated RTD oscillators integrated with a radial line slot antenna, and obtained circularly polarized THz radiation with the axial ratio of 2.2dB at 710 GHz.
