Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The present paper classifies the level of automation into five automation levels (ALs) for mobile robots, based on the safety integrity levels (SILs) or performance levels (PLs) that are given to their safety functions for safe navigation and/or control of the hazards caused by colliding, tumbling and/or falling robots. The AL indicates also the maturity level of mobile robots. Then hazard control systems to control collision and tumble hazards for bipedal robots with AL 2 are designed conceptually using A-C Model, and the fail-operational and fail-safe structures of the hazard control systems are explored.
