Abstract(in English) Mode-division multiplexing (MDM) transmission using few-mode fiber (FMF) is considered a promising technology for dealing with the capacity crunch faced by optical fiber communication networks employing conventional optical fiber. In MDM transmission, differential modal attenuation and delay become problem, but the active use of the mode coupling is suggested as the mean of relaxation. In this work, we fabricated a coupled 2 LP mode ring core fiber (RCF) with optimized the sigmoid bending model and realized to reduce the impulse response width of the 15.4 km fabricated RCF to 1/10 compared to the designed DMD. Finally, we conducted 6 × 6 MIMO transmission experiment and successfully reduced the DSP complexity by the mode coupling in the fabricated RCF.
