| Abstract(in English) | OpenStack as an open source software community started its development to build software of Infrastructure as a service in 2010. It has been widely deployed and utilized by various enterprises and organizations for productions and developments. OpenStack community is expanding its target domain to not only IaaS but also upper layer areas and even operational aspects. In this talk, we show the overview of OpenStack and its community as well as the recent activities. We describe the characteristic of OpenStack community and its core components with the survey and analysis of why, by who and how OpenStack is utilized. We also explain about the networking function of OpenStack including Layer2/Layer3 function mainly adopted and advanced functions expected in future such as distributed virtual router and QoS control. Since OpenStack is recently getting attention as an infrastructure of NFV, we introduce some use cases and initiatives driven by the community related to NFV. At last, we also present some use cases of OpenStack in connection with software container recently spotlighted as emerging technologies. |
