Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We experimentally evaluated the effect of the high dynamic range on physiological and psychological state during video contents viewing at 4K-HDR (High dynamic range) and 4K-SDR (Standard dynamic range) on a 58-inch 4K TV. As the measurements items, subjectivity assessment, blinking rates, heart rate variability(the level of sympathetic nerve activity: LF/HF), near-infrared spectroscopic (NIRS) topography were adopted. The results showed that the scores for “brightness” and “dazzling” when viewing 4K-HDR video content were higher than those for 4K-SDR content, although the effects varied somewhat according to content. However, there were no significant differences observed between the scores for any other subjective assessment items including qualitative assessment, emotional assessment and subjective symptoms assessment. Moreover, for the participant who gave the high scores for “presence,” “realism” and “precision”, whose total-Hb in NIRS, representing nervous system activity, when viewing 4K-HDR video content, was higher than those for 4K-SDR content. |
