[Invited Talk] Intelligent Global Processing using Topology-Preservation Cellular-Automata Rules

Abstract(in English) I describe intelligent global processing using cellular-automata (CA) with topology preservation. When we change the form of an object by using ordinary dilation or an erosion rule, the topology of the object will be disrupted because of parts of the object dividing or disappearing. Topology preserving rules enables object deformation keeping its features. Therefore, it becomes easy to predict the processing results using CA. In this paper, I apply the rules for cellular-automata that will enable solving a multipath maze or converts the early features of objects in images, such as edges and skeletons, into polygon shape.
