Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We clarify the dominant factor of an optical path penalty, which is generated by the linear/nonlinear crosstalk and the chromatic dispersion under 20 km transmission, from the view point of the BER (Bit Error Rate) with 1G-, 10G-, and 40G (10-Gbit/s x 4 $lambda$)-Class PON Coexisting Systems. An optical path penalty is experimentally demonstrated, and the effect of the chromatic dispersion is about 1 dB, and the linear/nonlinear crosstalk is negligibly minimal at less than 0.1 dB.
