Abstract(in English) | LTE-advanced (LTE-A) Pro is being standardized by 3rd Generation partnership Project (3GPP). On of technical challenges is latency reduction of the uplink wireless access for improving throughput of the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), which is still considered as the most common transport protocol in the packet communications systems and cellular systems as well. To tackle this challenge, a study item called Latency Reduction (LATRED) has been agreed to enhance the uplink wireless access scheme. The proposed solutions in LATRED study include the reduction of the subframe length and the improvement of the uplink access scheme in terms of the uplink grant allocation. Unlike these approaches, the authors have proposed new TCP ACK filtering methods considering uplink access method in the LTE-A and showed the effectiveness by basic computer simulations. However, further simulation study is needed to verify the effectiveness of proposed methods. In this report, the performance of the proposed methods is examined when Round Robin scheduling and Proportional Fair scheduling for the uplink packet scheduling are applied. In addition, the performance of various types of TCP ACK filtering methods is examined. Through these examinations, we explore a little further into effective TCP ACK filtering methods. |
