Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The physical characteristics of airborne microdroplets generated by inkjet system are peculiar in that they are small yet fast. Considering the application of inkjet microdroplets toward creating functional microstructures, an accurate method to measure the physical properties of the microdroplets are indispensable. However, the physical property measurement, including the size measurement are found to be difficult to conduct in a normal way. In this work, we analyzed the forward scattering pattern of the microdroplets to measure the radius with a precision of 1.5%. Owing to the simplicity of the experimental setup, the method is suitable for universal use.
