Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Phase response curves (PRC) have been used extensively to estimate the response properties of neurons. A recent measurement method of the PRC is proposed to reconstruct PRC with the weighted spike-triggered average (WSTA), but the method needs a lot of spikes data to make the PRC data noiseless. A theoretical study proposed an efficient method to estimate the PRC assuming sparsity. In this study, we propose sparse estimation with not only the PRC data but also the spike-triggered average (STA) data obtained simultaneously with the PRC data to take more information into the PRC estimation. Using the differential relation between PRC and STA, we set an objective function including the PRC and STA's error function andestimate the PRC by means of linear regression with Fourier basis functions. Using simulated data obtained by spike response model, we show that our proposed method achieves a more accurate estimation of the PRCthan the recent proposed one. |
